KonQuote is a Widget that displays a random quote from the 2 Quotes Database. The quote scrolls for your viewing pleasure.

I’ve written nine text-based games that you can play. The games are:

• Pig dice game; Pig is a simple jeopardy dice game. I’ve made a modified
  version you can play against someone else.
• The game of Nim (easy and hard version); The game of Nim is a classic
  Chinese game in which players take turns removing marbles from a pile according
  to set rules. The player that removes the last marble wins. You can play
  against the computer with 2 levels of artificial intelligence.
• Guessing game (easy and hard version); There are 2 guessing game. In
  the easy version you play a game of higher/lower against the computer. The
  hard version requires you to guess the square root of a given number to one
  decimal place within 8 guesses.
• Jackpot!; This is a simple poker machine game (pretend!). It’s highly addictive.
• q2q; This displays a random quote from the Q2 Quotes Database.
• dicer; This program allows you to roll a dice with the syntax from Dungeons & Dragons.
• mathp; This program can break down mathematical expressions and tell you the result.

KonClock

This Widget displays a binary clock that’s compact and unobtrusive.
When you don’t want to see it, it’s small enough to be ignored, but when you want to read it, it’s large enough to be easy to read. It displays seconds, with second resolution.

To read the clock:
* The first column of lights (from the left) is the hour past 0:00 or past midday.
* The second column of lights displays the minutes past the hour.
* The 3rd column displays the seconds past the minute.
* The final light, on the right, indicates whether the time is am or pm.

the game of nim

the game of nim is an ancient chinese game of skill. 2 players take turns removing marbles from a pile. The player to remove the last marble wins the game.
Now you can play an online version of the game against the computer!

Q2 Quotes Database

This is a website containing a large collection (>11,000) of quotations. I created and built the website, and I currently maintain it.
The quotes are stored in a text file, and are served using a set of PHP script I wrote.
The quotes can be served in many different ways; as HTML or XML, or alone, without adornment.

The website itself is served by a PHP script, which takes each page, applies the template I have designed,
and applies changes to the page to ensure that the PHP script is triggered on pages under a link.

Technical details

The website is fully XHTML Strict 1.0 compliant. The decision to use XHTML instead of HTML 4,
was made because XHTML is the current standard for website design. Using XHTML ensures future compatibility;
it also allows PDAs and other devices that only support XHTML to use the website.
I decided to use Strict rather than Transitional to ensure future compatibility,
because it is the leading standard in web design, and I did not need any of the features of Transitional.

The website is also fully CSS 2.1 compliant. Throughout the website, CSS is used to style the textual content,
to apply the gradients, colours and backgrounds. The website uses 4 gradients tastefully to add visual nicety to the design.
The website is, of course, still usable without stylesheets applied. I also chose to use CSS because of it’s similar
look and feel across all modern compliant web browsers,

the anagram game

the anagram game is an online word puzzle:
you have to unscramble one of 29,0000 words. There are three levels of difficulty, so why not try it. 5-minute fun!

buzz

buzz is a reaction tester game. The game tests your skill in reacting to a change on your screen.
When you click the “Start” button in the game, the computer waits a short, random period of time before the button changes colour.
When the colour changes, you have to click the button again as fast as possible. Then you’re scores based on your performance.

The uptime project lets you compare computer ‘uptime’ with other people. The tiny client software ensures your uptime is always shown with accuracy!

Uptime was created with C, PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

kliky

kliky is a computer game I’ve written
recently. The primary object of the game is to click a certain button as many times as
possible in 5 seconds. The quicker you click, and the more you move, the more you score! Can you score more than 10,000? Are you faster than your mouse can handle?
You can compare scores with your friends and family, and see yourself ranked against others.

KeyControl

KeyControl is a game for the Apple Dashboard that tests your typing ability and reaction time. The quicker you react to changes on the screen, the more you score. And as you play, the game gets harder – you have to react faster and faster to beat the computer. Your scores are automatically submited to this web site, so you can compare scores with other players. Warning: KeyControl is addictive!

Internet Explorer Retitler

The Internet Explorer Retitler is a useful program that allows you to change the titlebar
in Internet Explorer to anything you want. It’s written in Delphi. Click the link above to download it.
